The Office for National Statistics recently announced that 851,000 workers in UK worked primarily from their home. This number is twice of what it was in 1996 and accounts for 2.9% of the working population in the country. A survey conducted by Nectar Business on dress codes maintained by professionals who work from home found some interesting results. The research revealed that 8% of home workers did not change out of their pajamas. A startling 39% admitted to taking business calls when they were at a bar, pub or café and 27% received such calls when they were in the bath. 4% of respondents said that they were often caught up in household chores when they were supposed to be working. However the study also revealed that there were those who created an office like environment at home.
